Salary = £45-55k (DOE) + benefits package
The Role:
Reporting to the Operations Director. The Senior Production Manager will have responsibility for leading, developing and motivating all production staff to ensure they are operating at full optimism and that production processes are running efficiently at all times .
Duties include:
- Proactively lead, develop & mentor a production team to meet shift KPI ’ s and production demand .
- Generate and implement the production plans on a daily basis .
- Support the Operations Director in the initiation, development and implementation of value adding projects, implementing the relevant department project initiatives, monitoring progress, developing corrective actions as appropriate and reporting regularly on achievement to targets.
- Ensure the efficient and high-quality delivery of the production plan across all lines, maximising yield and minimising downtime and waste, according to set targets.
- Lead daily production meetings ensuring focus on production performance, quality, output, downtime, and rework. Identifying actions to be taken to address issues and monitoring progress.
- Produce daily production reports.
- Generate and monitor staff rotas on a weekly basis ensuring adherence to the Working Time Regulations.
- Ensure machinery is always operating efficiently with the Maintenance Manager
- Recommend improvement of the production processes to include efficiency, quality and safety.
- In collaboration with the HR Manager, arrange and monitor staff training for all production staff and ensure appropriate paperwork complete.
- In conjunction with the Quality Manager, ensure excellent housekeeping standards are maintained at all times .
- Help maintain the company ’ s quality systems in conjunction with the Quality Manager.
The Person:
- Applicants will have a minimum of three years ’ production management experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to demonstrate a high level of understanding of operating integrity, of quality systems, compliance and quality.
- A strong work ethic and trustworthy
- Strong leadership and excellent people management skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a tenacity to get to the root cause of operational issues
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
- Strong organisational, planning and time management skills
- Strong numeracy, literacy and IT skills
The Package:
- Excellent salary available £45,000 - £55,000 (depending on experience)
