Position Information

Chatswood High School (enrolment of over 1800 students, including approximately 79% from a non-English speaking background) is a partially selective, coeducational school located on Sydney's north shore with a strong commitment to academic excellence.

The school has two Selective classes from Years 7-10, a Gifted and Talented class Years 7-10, mainstream student enrolments who are our local students, as well as four classes in our Support Unit for students diagnosed with autism and intellectual disabilities. Offering a diverse curriculum, there is a strong emphasis on quality teaching and maximising student success. The school has a strong focus on student leadership and on promoting positive values and developing a sense of global citizenship.

Chatswood High School has recently completed a major redevelopment project with major refurbishment and new buildings.

Specific Selection Criteria

  1. Approval to teach legal studies and business studies.
  2. Demonstrated capacity to teach Stage 6 legal studies and business studies and develop and implement teaching and learning programs to cater for the needs of a diverse range of students.
  3. Demonstrated capacity to integrate information and communication technology into teaching and learning.
  4. Ability to work as a collaborative member of the Social Sciences faculty and contribute to whole school initiatives.

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
