Job description
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Tweedbank, is currently looking to recruit a Procurement & Contract Manager for an initial 12 month contract with option to extend on a rate of £400-450/day (Inside of IR35). This role will be hybrid working.
Responsibilities:
- Engaging strategically with internal and external stakeholders to capture customer needs and deliver best in class customer services.
- To manage procurement policies in alignment with legislation and professional body policy guidance.
- To manage the procurement of goods, services and other works; developing good working relationships with the Procurement and Commercial Directorate to help deliver wider goals; and, seeking additional specialist support where necessary
- To manage the work of a Procurement and Contract Management Officer. Ensuring that all necessary supply chain and contract management processes and procedures are in place and operating effectively with appropriate levels of stakeholder engagement.
- To monitor performance of suppliers working closely with the internal and external stakeholders including reporting on contract performance
- To co-ordinate closely with the relevant Project boards and ensuring that appropriate feedback is shared with suppliers and immediate action taken to resolve any concerns or issues. Mitigating risk and ensuring service is provided to the high level expected from our suppliers while continuing to ensure value for money principles. Overall responsibility for escalation of high-level concerns with suppliers.
Essential Skills:
- Ability to perform effective stakeholder management in challenging environments.
- Desirable but not essential to have experience of the procurement life cycle.
- Proficient in understanding and interpreting legislation and compliance
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
