What you will do in your working day

The Community Solutions Team is more than just a team, it is an approach that involves the whole Council, its partners, and Hounslow’s voluntary sector.

Community Solutions aims to empower Hounslow’s communities and connect them with support, help and advice in an accessible way through different Community Hubs across Hounslow.

• Our frontline team (Community Solutions Officers) provide our residents with holistic support across a range of issues such as employment, finance, and mental health.
• The Community Solutions Officers support residents via telephone, email, and in-person. Residents can also access support through our online platform, Hounslow Connect.
• As our Community Hub Apprentice, you will rotate across our Community Hubs to provide administrative support and to act as a friendly first point of contact for residents.
• You will also support Community Solutions’ wider projects and adapt easily to the priorities set out by your line manager.

The training you will be getting

Public Service Operational Delivery Officer Standard at Level 3

The Public Service Operational Delivery Officer Apprenticeship Standard at Level 3 combines the knowledge, skills and behaviours required of the standard and includes functional skills in maths and English. 

Apprentices will also undertake a Level 2 Award in Operational Delivery (Principles).  This allows learners to develop the knowledge required for employment and/or career progression within Operational Delivery. The qualification includes units on principles of working in operational delivery, providing customer service, equality and diversity. 

The Level 3 Certificate in Operation Delivery (Advanced) allows learners to develop the knowledge required for employment and/or career progression within Operational Delivery. The qualification includes units on working in operational delivery, providing customer service, managing team performance, operational delivery interviews and visits.

The minimum duration on the apprenticeship is 12 months, with an additional 6 months for an externally assessed end point assessment.  A total of 18 months plus functional skills if required.  Prior learning and experience will also be taken into consideration.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Career progression will be encouraged to support the apprentice into the most appropriate opportunity as they complete their apprenticeship by the apprenticeship provider and the employer.
