Are you an empathetic CAMHS Practitioner looking for an exciting new role?
We are now recruiting for a Band 6 CAMHS Practitioner to join a well-established NHS trust based in and around the Somerset. The role is available to start as soon as possible, and the appointed candidate will need to work full time hours (9am-5pm) .
The post holder will join a specialist multi-disciplinary team working with children, young people and their families referred for suspected or diagnosed eating disorder (ED). The post holder will contribute to the delivery of the service offering assessment, formulation and treatment to young people and their families/carers within clinic and service user’s homes. In addition, the post holder is responsible for liaising and working with other professionals as appropriate, alongside the promotion and development in the service of a psychological perspective and the use of psychological approaches.
The post holder will deliver and offer contributions to the development of the specialist ED pathway and close liaison with local community teams, paediatric and inpatient psychiatric wards will be essential.
Skills and experience needed:
• Acting as a point of contact for patients, carers and referrers and discussing potential referrals with them.
• To carry out joint assessments of children and families presenting with a suspected Eating Disorder.
• To contribute to team formulations for services users with the CEDS-CYP multi-disciplinary team.
• To devise treatment plans with the CEDS-CYP multi-disciplinary team and assist them to carry these through.
• To undertake risk assessment and risk management planning for those presenting with high-risk behaviours.
• Liaise closely with colleagues across a range of care teams to provide timely, accurate and effective treatment, supporting non-specialist colleagues in carrying out direct work themselves wherever this is appropriate.
• Deliver evidence-based interventions to children, young people, and families/carers presenting with eating disorders and co-morbid mental health diagnoses.
• To be a key member of the multi-disciplinary team
• Offering clinical intervention flexibly as required
