MANUFACTURING ENGINEER
ROTATING DAY SHIFT PATTERN; 6-2 AND 2-10

ROLE SUMMARY
A Manufacturing Engineer assists with all aspects of machine maintenance, trouble shooting, and breakdowns. You will proactively manage preventative maintenance, ensuring productive execution of required maintenance during down time, focusing on supporting the continued smooth running of operations.
YOU WILL
- Proactively develop knowledge of manufacturing and production packing processes, filling and finishing techniques and industrialisation processes.
- Collect and analyze data, ensuring it is used to support day to day work.
- Take an active part in team meetings to determine and agree consistent working methods.
- Take responsibility for reporting defective components.
- Assist with machine risk assessment review programme for all assets.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained as per scheduled plan and new equipment/tooling guarantees all products are produced to meet the required quality specification.
- Assist with or undertake root cause investigations when requested.
- Work with the New Product Development team, Cell Managers and Process Engineers to support the introduction of new products helping to identify new equipment and tooling requirements to ensure product quality, costs and launch dates are achieved.
- Support work to ensure equipment/parts standardization.
- Ensure the correct spare parts are held and support the stores management processes.
- Attend and assess equipment breakdowns to provide most suitable solution for the issue.
- Understand the business needs and priorities and escalate issues as required.
- Provide expertise and assistance in cross functional projects.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify productivity and cost saving opportunities, and support capital projects.
- Seek out and share new innovative technologies to fulfil the requirements of the site.
- Assist with improving departmental performance through training and coaching of team members in relevant Master and Excellence along with all aspects of continuous improvement.
- Support the drive for KPI improvement through SMED design and reduction of machine stoppages.
- Engage in lean manufacturing activities to contribute to the improvement of manufacturing cost, quality of product and service level.
