Our team shape projects that connect communities and impact daily life for millions. Join our Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick team as a Senior Project Manager on the and build new futures.

This role is associated with part of a investment programme to refurbish docking and berthing facilities. The project involves removal of existing services, development of design for, and installation of, new services to support current and future classes of vessels.

The purpose of the role is to;

• Have overall accountability for successful project delivery including planning, design, delivery, monitoring, commissioning and handover/closeout
• Be a change agent that provides management, leadership and inspires a multi-disciplinary team to achieve a common goal
• Determine the most appropriate means of satisfying customer/project requirements, objectives and constraints: time, cost, quality, scope, risk and benefits

What you'll be doing

As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for;

• Lead the Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick delivery of project scope, reporting internally & externally on progress, maintain close liaise with stakeholders and providing timely, accurate and relevant information to enable cost effective decisions to be made.
• Lead a relentless focus on Zero Harm, keep up to date with changes in legislation and be responsible for the safety and welfare of the general public, employees and supply chain
• Manage risk and opportunities throughout the project, escalating any issues that cannot be resolved at the delegated level of authority and both create and maintain a positive safety culture.
• Develop the team through supporting, guiding, motivating and empowerment
• Set strategic direction for supply chain and procurement strategies to support a just-in-time logistics strategy, ensuring supply chain compliance
• Maintain a focus on quality with a long term view on handover, certification and completion
• Develop, implement, review and periodically update resource loaded schedules, understanding the schedule risk profile and implementing mitigating action to reduce the risk to project completion.
• Incorporate and balance both operational and commercial constraints into decision making
• Advocate consistency and reliability of digital data to support successful project delivery data driven decisions

Who we're looking for

The following qualities/experience are essential:

• Electrically Biased
• Able to demonstrate a track record of project delivery
• Experience in implementing safe systems of work
• Effective team management skills which empower, influence & inspire others to build effective teams. Providing mentoring and support to members of the team where required
• Commercially astute
• Able to undertake work in high pressure situations
• A pragmatic approach to problem solving

The following qualities/experience are desirable:

• Experience of working on a variety of project types
• Is a member of a professional management body i.e. APM
• Proficient on O365
• Hold or be able to obtain a UK Security Clearance
• Holds a formal qualification (BSc/MSc/BEng/MEng) in management/engineering or experience equivalent
• Holds either the APM PFQ/PMQ/PPQ
• Holds CSCS and SMSTS or Equivalent
