Job Title : Business Development Officer
Location : Croydon
Salary : £28,000 per annum
Contract : Full-Time
Role Overview :
As a Business Development Officer, you will play a vital role in enhancing the visibility of our client within the business community, particularly among employers. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the achievement of targets for various employer provision programs, including ESFA initiatives, Apprenticeships, adult skills, and commercial training. Working closely with the Business Development team and Senior Apprenticeships Manager, you will actively engage with potential clients and assist in securing new contracts and nurturing existing relationships.
Key Responsibilities :
- Explore and identify new leads to expand the client base.
- Update internal systems with all business development activities.
- Engage with prospective clients to understand their needs and promote suitable programs.
- Generate new business opportunities and ensure effective closure of leads.
- Network with potential clients through various engagement events.
- Work towards set targets and goals with dedication.
- Proactively approach potential business opportunities.
- Promote available opportunities to businesses and cross-sell where applicable.
- Follow up on all business inquiries and maintain regular updates.
- Manage and maintain business relations throughout the engagement journey.
- Attend meetings, training sessions, and seminars as required.
- Provide regular reports and feedback on business development activities.
- Monitor and research market trends to adapt strategies accordingly.
- Analyze customer feedback data to gauge satisfaction levels with company products and services.
Essential/Desirable Criteria :
Professional Experience, Skills, and Knowledge :
- Some relevant experience in business development or a related field.
- People-focused with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Positive, enthusiastic, creative, and innovative mindset.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Self-starter with resourceful and detail-oriented qualities.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in the skills and training sector.
- Level 2 qualifications in English & Maths or willingness to undertake them.
- Level 3 qualification or equivalent (A-Levels, etc.).
- Willingness to undertake further qualifications as part of self-development.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements.
- Enthusiastic and energetic approach to work.
- Ability to manage multiple lines of enquiry simultaneously.
- Other Role Requirements and Information:
- Willingness to travel when necessary.
- Completion of Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
- Ability to set and work to deadlines.
