Job Description: CCTV Operator

Location: London Designer Outlet, London HA9 0FD

Hourly Rate: £15.30 per hour

Shift Pattern: 4 days on 4 days off - 42 hours per week

The Control Room Operator (CRO) is accountable to the Security Manager for the support, management, and delivery of security within the Shopping Centre environment. The CRO will ensure exemplary standards of security and customer service is always provided to the client and visitors to the site.

Job Role:

· The post holder must, at all times, carry out their duties and responsibilities to comply with policies/procedures

· Monitor and operate the CCTV cameras and associated equipment in the CCTV Control Room.

· To respond to all incidents, taking ownership of the situation through to its natural conclusion to both client and management satisfaction

· Effective communication with the Client, Operations Manager, Security Shift Manager and Security Teams and escalate any issues as required or necessary

· Issue of access passes, keys & radios and ensure that the issue logs are kept up to date & report any anomalies to the Security Shift Manager

· Carry out varying administrative tasks as directed by the management team

· Carry out CCTV checks, camera audits and functionality checks of CCTV recordings

· Action access control requests from the Intercom at varying entry points on the estate

· Maintain the daily occurrence log (DOB) to ensure all incidents and occurrences are up to date

· Be conversant with all life safety systems and assist in responding to all emergencies promptly

· Action and communicate fire alarms as received in the security control room

· Ensure officers are on post and that positions are not down manned without authorisation.

· Carry out daily inspections of security personnel to ensure all passes are worn and uniform standards meet the site and company standards.

· Follow protocols for maintain the security of the CCTV Control Room and its facilities.

· At all times the post holder must maintain and respect the security and sensitivity of the service. Comply with the adopted Code of Practice and service operational procedures at times, breaches of which will result in disciplinary action being taken.

· Any other duties which are equal or similar to the responsibility level and the grade of the post

· Ensure accurate records are maintained of all equipment, including Radios, patrol devices and ensure that all officers on the site are correctly equipped.

· To manage and organise all onsite duties, so that operational needs are met

· Operationally assist and support the Security Team as required - Organise Security to attend to alarm activation' and incidents on shift

· Ensure a thorough handover is conducted with the Controllers of the previous shift.

Key Responsibilities:

· To operate and monitor the day-to-day requirements of the CCTV system, Fire Alarm System, Access Control system, Radios & keys in line with customer and contractual expectations, ensuring service delivery and prompt response to all incidents

· To record daily events/requests/actions in logs provided

· Effectively communicate with the security team and Security Shift Manager ensuring all incidents are escalated in a timely and appropriate manner.

Job Requirements:

· SIA CCTV Licence required

· SIA Door Supervisor licence would be a bonus

· Proven CCTV Security experience is required

· Strong IT ability – including Excel, Word, Outlook

· Experience operating fire alarm system in a busy environment

· Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills

· Good knowledge of local area

· Excellent levels of customer service at all times

· Demonstrated ability to think and act quickly in emergencies or under pressure

· To have a smart appearance befitting the company

· Good organisational skills, flexibility and reliability

· Be fully aware of current CCTV policies and data protection requirements
