Role Overview:
As a skilled Teaching Assistant with a knack for leading intervention classes, you’ll play a pivotal role in bolstering the academic progress and achievement of students requiring additional support. Your key responsibilities will include:
Targeted Intervention: Taking charge of small group intervention sessions tailored to students needing extra assistance in specific subjects or skill areas. Your ability to deliver engaging and effective intervention activities will propel students toward their learning objectives.
Individualized Support: Offering personalized assistance to students based on their unique learning needs and capabilities. Working closely with teachers, you’ll identify areas for improvement and craft tailored intervention strategies to bridge learning gaps and overcome challenges.
Progress Monitoring: Keeping a close eye on the progress and performance of students engaged in intervention classes, utilizing diverse assessment tools and methods. Your meticulous attention to detail and adeptness in tracking student progress will guide instructional decisions and foster continuous learning.
Collaborative Approach: Collaborating seamlessly with classroom teachers, SENCOs, and fellow support staff to ensure a cohesive and coordinated approach to student support and intervention. Your collaborative spirit as part of a multidisciplinary team will greatly contribute to the overall success of our students.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates who possess:
Teaching Assistant Experience: Prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant, with a demonstrated ability to lead intervention sessions and support student learning. Experience working with students across different age groups and ability levels are highly desirable.
Intervention Expertise: Experience planning and delivering targeted intervention activities to support students’ academic progress and attainment. Knowledge of effective intervention strategies and techniques, including phonics, numeracy, and literacy interventions, is essential.
Educational Qualifications: A relevant qualification in education or a related field, such as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent. Additional training or certification in intervention strategies and techniques would be advantageous.
Effective Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents. Your ability to communicate effectively and provide constructive feedback will support student progress and success.
