Job description
The Trust is seeking a full time specialty doctor to join Female Psychiatry Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Woodbank at Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport. This is a new post for a newly developed service to cater the female patients who will require PICU. Woodbank will provide intensive care to acutely unwell female patients. This facility accommodates 6 female patients between the age of 18 - 65 yrs. By the nature of this facility, it is expected that the patients admitted to PICU will be acutely unwell with potentially aggressive and challenging behaviors. The majority of patients will be from the Pennine Care footprint, though we will accept referrals from throughout the North West region. The length of stay is highly variable, though we would normally anticipate maximum of 4 weeks stay in PICU.
