Job description

New Mills School is a medium sized 11-16 secondary school based in the High Peak close to the Peak District National Park, yet within easy reach of the centres of Stockport and Manchester.

We are looking to appoint a Safeguarding and Attendance Officer who will;
• take lead responsibility for safeguarding and child protection across the school (including online safety)
• improve levels of attendance by working closely with students, staff, and families to remove barriers
• support students, staff and family members on child welfare, safeguarding and child protection matters, and liaise with relevant agencies such as the local authority and police

We are looking for an individual who is able to prioritise workload and resolve issues that arise independently. The successful candidate will be confident, have good interpersonal skills and be prepared to work flexibly.
