Job description

We are recruiting a Family Contact Worker to support children and young people who are ‘Looked After’ in providing high quality child led family time between children, young people, and their families.

We are recruiting a Family Contact Worker within our Intervention Hub to support children and young people who are ‘Looked After’ in providing high quality child led family time between children, young people and their families. You will need to have good observation and recording skills and be able to offer relevant support and guidance during Family Time to ensure that the immediate safety and needs of the child are met.  We are looking for someone who can promote quality and stimulated Family Time and provide accurate and relevant written and verbal information to contribute to the ongoing care plan for looked after children and young people.

You need to have good communication skills, both verbally and written, and the ability to effectively communicate with children, young people and their families to enable them to have quality and child led Family Time.

You need to have the ability to establish and sustain effective professional working relationships with children, their families and other professionals. Work flexible hours, including early morning, evening and weekend work as required according to the service needs. For the most part, your base will be in Ellesmere Port, but you may also be required to work at our family centre in Winsford when needed.

You will need to have knowledge of child development and previous experience of working with children, young people and families. You need to have NVQ 3 or equivalent level of experience in a relevant disciple, for example, health and social care, housing, employment etc.
