Senior Construction Project Manager (Civils)
Site Based in Rotherham
Regular travel to Milton Keynes head office
Salary – up to GBP75,000 per annum
As Senior Construction Project Manager you will be the lead on all civil engineering works. You will have a vital role in the delivery of our development pipeline of Trunk Road Service Areas and Motorway Service Areas, helping to ensure the multi–disciplinary teams on our projects work together efficiently, to deliver first–class roadside services on time, to budget, with zero harm.
Representing the Client, you will work collaboratively with our internal customer, specialist supply chain partners and third parties to ensure the design and construction is delivered within the brief. You will be a driving force on our sites, providing site leadership and bringing a focus to quality, health, safety and environmental performance, programme management, value engineering and compliance.
What will your role look like?
You will be responsible for:
- The management and delivery of projects from preconstruction to handover.
- As Client project manager, provide leadership and direction to consultants and contractors in the delivery of projects.
- Lead and manage on all civil engineering matters at the design and delivery stage, including technical approval of all highways works and relevant Agreements, including Section 278 and the like with National Highways and Local Authorities
- Manage and oversee the technical approval of all drainage works and relevant Agreements, including Section 104 and the like with Water and Sewerage Authorities and Local Authorities.
- Produce, manage, monitor and maintain the construction master programme and report on progress.
- Chair and attend regular site management meetings and workshops with contractors, consultants and third parties.
- Ensure project compliance with Building Control, Local Planning Authority and all other regulatory bodies.
- Assist the Document Controller in compiling and archiving the final issue of design documentation, for the; As–Built records, O&M Manuals, Health and Safety File and Post Construction Stage BREEAM certificate
- Ensuring LEED or BREEAM compliance where required on projects, review and undertake Design Stage Assessments
About you
Ideally we are looking for someone who has:
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of civil engineering construction with experience in managing the delivery of the design and construction of development sites, including; ground treatment, bulk earthworks, drainage, piling, utilities, structures and highway works.
- Experience in managing and delivering Section 278 works with National Highways and Local Authorities.
- Good understanding of construction processes and buildability associated with building and fit out works through all RIBA Stages.
- A sound knowledge of UK construction industry and best practice in design principles and project delivery.
- Excellent programme management skills with competence in Microsoft Project and or Asta PowerProject.
- Understanding of Building Regulations and Planning Permission procedures and adoptable highways (s278) and drainage works (s104)
