Purpose of the role
To organize the loading of lorries delivering or collecting aggregates and asphalt from the depot, asphalt and recycling plants.
To organize transport in a manner to optimize loaded capacity between units
To ensure that customers' requirements are fully satisfied.
To produce computerized weight tickets for lorries delivering and collecting aggregates and asphalt.
To answer telephone enquiries and direct to the correct department either at site level, Regional level or national level.
To receive visitors to the site and direct to the correct department.
To carry out various administration duties pertaining to the weighbridge operations.
Ensure and check materials leaving the site comply with Company quality requirements.
To undertake other duties within their scope in the office in accordance with the Site Management.
Ensure politeness and punctuality at all times.
To ensure correct operation of the cash sales procedure.
Responsibility to pass on any health and safety changes at site to haulers.
Operate, inspect and maintain mobile plant for loading and moving of materials
Inspection Check lists to be completed following plant checks Before, during and after operating
Operating and re-fueling of mobile plant in a safe manner.
Adhere to all Company policies and guidelines.
Comply with Company health and safety and environmental procedures.
Close liaison with the other Weighbridge Clerks to ensure franchised Vehicles are optimized efficiently
Key accountabilities
Correct operation of the weighbridge as per the procedures.
Ensure compliance with Competition Act.
Ensure Company information is dealt with as per the Company procedures.
To operate mobile plant in a safe and efficient manner.
To maintain plant to good order physically in accordance with manufacturers and HM recommendations.
To complete near miss reports as required by Site Management.
Good timekeeping.
Keep work stations clean and tidy
Ensure all visitors sign in and direct them to their meeting
Ensure buildings are kept secure at all times
To ensure compliance with Weights and Measures Act
Ensure Unit Manager is made aware of driver short falls in performance and training needs.
Education/Qualification
Full training can be given to the right candidate.
To work towards and attain NVQ/QCF certification in mobile plant operations.
