Personal Care Assistant

Location: Weymouth, Dorset

The Role: To provide support to an intelligent lady with Cerebral Palsy, who uses an electric wheelchair. She needs help with personal care and general support and would encourage those to apply with a great sense of humour. This role is to support her to attend her well-loved day centre during the week, and there may be occasional over-time hours for sickness and holiday cover of other staff.

Main Duties:

• To prepare all food and drinks.
• To support with exercise.
• To provide personal care tasks.
• To encourage to eat and drink.
• To drive her wheelchair accessible vehicle to the day centre.
• To support her in her day centre activities (such as arts and crafts etc.)

Personal Qualities and Attributes required:

• Respectful of confidentiality and privacy
• Responsible, reliable, and trustworthy
• Respectful of dignity and independence
• Good communication skills and social skills
• Punctual, and flexible
• Car owner with clean driving license is essential – you will be required to drive the individuals wheelchair accessible vehicle.

*This role is predominantly a lone working position, an Enhanced DBS (formerly CRB) is required for all staff undertaking the role*
You must be able to prove your right to work in the UK. No sponsorship is available.

Hours: 21 – 30 hour per week.

Pay: £13.00
