Based in Chorley, within easy commute from both the M61 and M6, as well as on major routes in the area, this leading provider of B2B technology are focused in the medical sector, and boast growth in a rapidly expanding area. With further opportunity to develop the product range, and future growth planned across new healthcare settings, they have been established for over 30 years, providing innovative solutions which enhance services and customer experience for the end users. As the business grow, they have a new requirement within the finance function as Assistant Management Accountant. A crucial role in supporting the financial management and reporting, this position will work closely with the FP&A Manager in the preparation, analysis, and presentation of financial information.

Your new role as Assistant Management Accountant:

An exciting new role to enhance the current finance team, the Assistant Management Accountant will support the FP&A Manager in a Hybrid role, preparing, analysing, and presenting the key financials to the Head of Finance. Working in a team of 9, this position is varied and will focus on month-end routine, as well as being responsible for other varied tasks.

• Assisting the FP&A Manager with the month-end, including preparing and posting journals, variance analysis and generating the management accounts.
• Aiding the monthly Cost of Sales reporting and inputting into improvements / areas for investigation.
• Analyse costs and expenses monthly, identifying areas for cost control and efficiency improvements.
• Assist in forecast and budget preparation.
• Create and implement key analytical tools and reports, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement, to add value to Management and the wider business.
• Prepare and present regular management reports on key financial metrics.
• Liaising with all departments to understand processes and assisting in preparing management reporting.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies.
• Participate in internal and external audits.
• Communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.

Experience & Qualifications Required to apply:

To be considered for this role you shall have operated in a similar role, and be a progressive, versatile accounting professional. With a solid grounding in the ledgers, and experience with month-end duties, you shall have either completed AAT or be at the beginning of your formal qualifications across CIMA ACA or ACCA. With proven experience as an Assistant Management Accountant. you shall have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be proficient with the use of Excel. With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you shall be able to demonstrate you are detail-oriented, with a proven track record in a high volume finance function.
