We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Critical Care Nurse to join our client's team in Livingston. As a Critical Care Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in our Critical Care Unit (CCU), providing high-quality care to critically ill patients. Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the CCU.
- Monitor patients' vital signs, administer medications, and assess their condition.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Emergency Response:
- Be prepared to respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies and code situations.
- Administer advanced life support measures as necessary.
- Maintain competency in using critical care equipment and technology.
Assessment and Documentation:
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including physical and psychological needs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans.
Communication:
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing information and emotional support.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
Infection Control:
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols to minimize the risk of healthcare-associated infections.
Continuous Learning:
- Stay current with developments in critical care nursing through ongoing education and training.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Valid Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registration as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Previous experience working in a Critical Care Unit (CCU) is essential.
- Possession of a PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) certificate is mandatory.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications are required.
- Excellent clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
