ROLE SUMMARY:

As part of our strategy to continue to grow and provide our services internationally, an opportunity has arisen for a talented and ambitious Business and Economics Leader of Learning (Teacher) to join our school on a part-time (0.6) basis, with the ability to teach Economics (A-level) and Business Studies (GCSE and A-level). Our teachers work from home in the UK to deliver live lessons via our online classrooms where students are encouraged to participate and join in with activities and if you are interested in joining us to improve the lives of our students, we would love to hear from you! The ability to teach Business & Economics at both KS4 and KS5 is essential for this role, and the ability to offer IB Diploma Program Economics or Business Management would be an advantage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

•   Inspire, motivate and provide purposeful subject knowledge for students within the school

•   Be up to date on current research and emerging pedagogy and disseminate this to staff through active engagement in professional development with the learning community

•   Support the self-evaluation of the school’s effectiveness and the development of priorities for improvement

•   Assist in maintaining and developing a high-quality school environment and profile and act as a role model through professional conduct and disposition

•   Provide guidance and advice to students on educational matters

•   Provide and contribute to assessments, reports and references relating to student progress and attainment in a timely manner

•   Participate in meetings and staff CPD opportunities

•   Undertake any other work as specified by their line manager

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

•   Excellent subject knowledge

•   Knowledge of the correct Safeguarding procedures

•   Ability to work well in teams with excellent written and communication skills

•   Able to work effectively in dynamic and changing environments

•   Experience of working in the secondary or college sector

•   Experience of working in state or independent school sector

•   Experience with creating resources and the ability to review and enhance current course delivery

•   Computer Literate with the ability to use a variety of applications
