Job description

We are excited to offer an opportunity for new and experienced individuals to join our team as Exam Invigilators. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of exams, providing a fair and supportive environment for students to perform their best. This role offers flexibility, support, and the chance to be part of the educational journey of many students.

SAFEGUARDING

This role will involve contact with children. North London Grammar School is

committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young

people and expects all staff to share this commitment. All applicants should

read the school’s safeguarding policy (available on our website) and are

required to declare any criminal convictions, cautions or disciplinary

proceedings related to young people. Applicants must be willing to undergo

child protection screening appropriate to the post including checks with past

employers and the Disclosure and Barring Services. Full details are given on

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is

therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and

cautions (including those which are “spent” unless they are “protected” under

the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with

children.

KEY RESPOSIBILITIES

• To assist the Exam Officer in disseminating all examination board information regarding external examinations as required to staff, students, and parents/carers

• To assist organising the SEN provision for SEN pupils during exams

• To support the Exam Officer in effectively manage the daily running of external examinations in ensuring that all required materials are in the examination rooms for the beginning of exams 

• To help the Exam Officer in organizing the secure storage of all examination stationery and materials, including question papers, in accordance with regulations 

• To be able to brief candidates on examination regulations 

• To be responsible for collecting worked scripts in accordance with the Regulations 

• Promote equal opportunities and inclusion, addressing immediately should this fall short in their School 

• Report any Safeguarding concerns in accordance with the Safeguarding Policy

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Experience of using of the Microsoft Office suite.

• Able to maintain confidentiality

• Experience of working in a busy site office where keeping cool under pressure of work is the norm

• Use of good English in a business/office setting

• Excellent numerical skills to undertake a variety of tasks
