As our Bid Manager you will be a key member of our bids team based at our Head Office in Birmingham . Working hybrid (2 days onsite), you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of high quality bid submissions for major bid contracts sought by our UK Coach business. You will need to have a high attention to detail, work well under pressure as well as within tight timescales, plus be driven to deliver winning bids.
What you'll do...
- Delivering high quality tender response documents through compelling bid writing, innovative and strategic thinking and critically analysing our response against tender requirements.
- Supporting the delivery of internal and external presentations and documents, including for senior management.
- Identifying and managing tender opportunities through UK-wide procurement portals, including identification, qualification, tenders and client communications.
- Leading and working with key business areas to deliver compelling and accurate quality tender responses.
- Managing bid processes and functions including a bid directory, case study stock bank, documentation of key business credentials and distribution of key tender documentation to business stakeholders.
- Work with the Bid Pricing Analyst to ensure tender documents across pricing and quality are cohesive and accurate.
- Supporting the development and delivery of bid project plans; engaging with key internal and external stakeholders to produce high quality tenders.
- Undertaking client research and obtain local knowledge for tenders.
- Attend tradeshows and conferences to retain strong understanding and knowledge of the public transport vehicles, technology and customer offerings.
- Work with our wider National Express Group (Mobico) to develop streamlined tender processes, knowledge sharing and hold regular engagement.
What you'll need...
- Graduate calibre with previous experience in bid writing or bid management
- Experience of working on commercial transport bids and contracts desired.
- Working with compliance functions.
- Project management experience
- Excellent written English, presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure with tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and confident to communicate with a range of stakeholders including senior management.
- Strong organisation, attention to detail and planning skills.
- Proven track record of project management and working with a range of stakeholders.
