Finance Business Partner - Immigration and Escorting Services - Care and Custody

£60,000 per annum

The Finance Business Partner (FBP – Escorting Services) reports to the Senior Finance Business Partner (SFBP), Escorting Services and is part of the C&C finance team. The FBP will be directed by the SFBP and responsibilities will include supporting on the mobilisation of the new contract wins and supporting the financial reporting and forecsting process along with providing commercial support to the SFBP.

A key requirement of the ‘hands-on' nature of this role will be having a detailed knowledge of the Mitie finance systems (especially Coupa, SAP, FDW and TM1) along with expert Excel skills.

The individual will be a qualified accountant, with good technical skills, including a thorough understanding of the latest accounting standards along with excellent analytical skills and an ability to solve complex issues.

Your responsibilities will include collaborating with the finance and operations teams to deliver divisional objectives and execute our strategic vision. You'll work closely with the Head of Operations and budget holders to provide high-quality financial information for informed decision-making.

Your tasks will involve delivering accurate and timely financial reports to both internal and external stakeholders. You'll prepare month-end reporting, including Profit & Loss (P&L), balance sheet, and cash flow statements, adhering to Group timetables. Additionally, you'll provide transparent contract finance reporting that withstands management scrutiny and challenge.

Risk management is essential, and you'll own and update the Risks and Opportunities log for our Escorting Services division. Ensuring accurate accounting of accrued and deferred income on a monthly basis, with clear communication to the business regarding non-current debt, will be part of your role. Collaborating with clients to agree on proposed charges in advance of billing is crucial for accurate and timely client billing.

You'll also support process improvement efforts, partner with operational managers and departmental heads to prepare full annual budgets and periodic forecasts (which may require travel to operational sites), and provide commercial support to the Strategic Finance Business Partner (SFBP) as directed. Active participation in external and internal audits to ensure successful completion is expected.

The ideal candidate for this role should be a Qualified Accountant (ACA, CA, CIMA, ACCA) with good communication skills across all levels. They should possess a solid understanding of finance and operational processes, including practical experience using systems like SAP, TM1, and FDW. Additionally, the ability to identify and implement process improvements is crucial. Familiarity with the C&C sector/environment would be advantageous, and a high level of integrity is expected.
