A fantastic opportunity is awaiting you; the chance to join a team committed to designing an innovative and creative Computing curriculum journey for students from 3 until 18 in an all through academy.
Since opening in 2018, King’s Academy Binfield (KAB) has successfully launched GCSE and A Level Computer Science courses and is now looking to appoint a highly motivated, dynamic and innovative teacher of computing to join our team and play an intrinsic role building on this success as our new all-through academy in Bracknell Forest continues to grow.
The Role
King’s Academy Binfield (KAB) is now looking to appoint a highly motivated, dynamic and innovative teacher of Computing to play an intrinsic role in our new all-through academy in Bracknell Forest. This teaching post is for teaching secondary Computing, although there may be opportunities to work with the primary phases in the future. The unique aspects of this role are:
1. Strong focus on teacher development, with subject specific CPD offered to all,.
2. Team planning time included in the timetable.
3. Collaborative teaching resources fully shared amongst staff, allowing personalisation while reducing workload.
4. Opportunities to keep shaping the curriculum, including extending our KS4 and KS5 offer to include a qualification in IT as well as our existing Computer Science GCSE and A level.
5. Excellent IT facilities. As well as our own dedicated IT classrooms, all students are equipped with their own Chromebooks.
6. Computing is part of a wider Maths and Computing structure, enhancing collaboration, support & team ethos.
Whilst a main scale role initially, there will be increasing opportunities for leadership roles within the academy as the school expands. Potential is as important as experience. The successful applicant will teach primarily across the secondary phase however there will be opportunities within our primary phase too.

Applicants should be excellent classroom teachers and have the ability to motivate, inspire and lead students to excel, with experience of producing successful outcomes at GCSE being beneficial. The successful candidate will be a team player and will get stuck in and involve themselves in the wider aspects of academy life. A genuine commitment to our ‘whatever it takes’ ethos is essential to enable every young person at KAB and KAO to thrive.
