About the role
Assist the Renewals Managers in the planning and safe delivery Track Renewals work packages in compliance with the appropriate Network Rail Group and Line Standards and Safety Legislation within the agreed financial contractual allowables
What you'll be doing
As a/an Senior Supervisor , you will have the following accountabilities:
- Responsible for the detailed planning and execution of Track Renewals Works as allocated by the Renewals Manager.
- Responsible for planning and directing the activities of Site Supervisors and track staff.
- Hold Whiteboard / Stage Gate meetings in accordance with CRSA Track Renewals Procedure producing the required outputs to support effective and robust delivery of the works to completion.
- Ensure agreed performance and other KRAs are met
- Ensure compliance with Contract allowables for all works.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Safety Legislation and Welfare Regulations.
- Responsible for ensuring all works undertaken comply with contract specifications and Network Rail Group and Line Standards.
- Responsible for ensuring works are undertaken by competent staff.
- Assist with the provision of technical support to the Senior Engineer, Senior Supervisor and Renewals Manager.
- Support the Senior Renewals Manager in delivering the Alliance Programme as required.
- Assist with the provision of technical and delivery support to the Track and Drainage Senior Engineer, Senior Supervisor and Renewals Manager Team as required.
- Deliver Duty Management and On Call as required.
- Ensure maximum utilisation of resources in delivery of all works
- Ensure all staff have the necessary skills and are competent to undertake all duties safely, efficiently and to Contract Specification.
- Ensure all works are carried out safely in accordance with Rules, Regulations and appropriate Safety Legislation
- Participate in the planning and preparation of Track Renewal works.
- Co-ordinate/Chair/Attend and record site meetings.
- Produce status and progress reports on site works.
- Ensure all works are undertaken in accordance with the WPP and any deviations from programme timings are reported timorously.
- Ensure track inspections are undertaken as stipulated in Network Rail Line Standards.
- Undertake safety inspection as stipulated by CRSA procedures and Contract requirements.
- Assist in the production of WPPs and Task Briefs.
- Ensure appropriate Daily Work Returns (Planned v Actuals) are submitted timorously.
- Undertake accident/incident investigations as required.
- Ensure adequate provision of welfare facilities.
- Procure tool, materials, small plant, lights etc for contracted works.
- Participate in the Divisional Safety Briefing Programme.
- Attendance at meetings as required.
- Site Manager, Duty Manager and On Call as required.
Who we're looking for
You will have the following:
- Demonstrable experience in Permanent Way maintenance/track renewals at least performing at Site Supervisors level. In depth knowledge of Track Renewals discipline.
- Strong knowledge of financial controls.
- Good knowledge of Track Renewals Disciplines.
- Excellent knowledge of Rules & Regulations, H.A.S.A.W and other appropriate regulations.
- Excellent knowledge of both group and line standards.
- In depth knowledge of all aspects of track renewals disciplines.
- HNC in an Engineering discipline or working towards.
- Good IT skills.
- Good communication and man management skills.
- Able to drive
- PTS and COSS
