Job description

We wish to appoint an enthusiastic and outstanding Design and Technology teacher to join our successful and popular department on a fixed term basis; this role will commence in September 2024.

We currently offer Resistant Materials in years 7, 8 and 9, Graphics in years 8 and 9, plus Food & Nutrition in years 7 & 9. Students can currently choose to take GCSE and A-Level courses in Graphic products and Resistant Materials. We are looking to recruit an all-round Design and Technology teacher who will have proven experience at KS3 initially, as this post is also for the Sevenoaks Annex. ECTs are also welcome to apply.

You would be responsible for delivering outstanding lessons and contributing to the wider education agenda, inspiring learners and raising standards. The successful candidate would be expected to deliver high quality lessons and be familiar with equipment used in school woodwork and engineering workshops, as well as the food room and be prepared to be trained in technology developments.

You will be able to demonstrate experience of achieving positive outcomes for pupils, as well as being passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people. As a committed team player, you will have excellent organisational skills and the natural ability to motivate both pupils and peers. We welcome applications from creative and dynamic teachers who can contribute to this vision. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of excellent teaching and learning.

The main site for TWGSB is in Tunbridge Wells. However, you will be required to work at the annex campus at Sevenoaks.  

Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys is an expanding and rapidly improving selective grammar school. It is undergoing a period of transformational change benefitting from a multi-million pound investment in Tunbridge Wells and a brand new building at our Sevenoaks campus, which opened in September 2021.
