We are seeking to hire a Marketing & PR Assistant who will build and maintain a positive image for Café Mauds. The candidate should have a passion for the Marketing & PR industry. They will help establish and maintain relationships with customers and the local community through social media and responding to requests for information.
The candidate should have a good understanding of consumer marketing with excellent written and verbal communication skills. They will learn the organisation’s key objectives, promotional policies and needs to build public relations strategies that influence public opinion and promote products, services and ideas..
Responsibilities
- Assisting with the development and distribution of PR materials, videos and logo materials.
- Editing and proofreading social media content, videos, website content, and other communications which will be posted online.
- Managing PR materials, filing, copying, and performing other clerical tasks.
- Responding to emails, messages and inquiries, and performing other administrative tasks.
- Tracking social media metrics and analysing performance of posts and campaigns to improve and refine our social media strategies.
- Creating, curating and managing content across various social media platforms which includes scheduling posts, responding to comments and engaging with the audience.
- Developing engaging and visually appealing content, including images, videos, and written posts, to share on social media channels.
- Staying up-to-date with industry trends, social media algorithms and public relations best practices to suggest innovative ideas and strategies.
- Collaborating with vendors to promote brands and products used within the Café.

- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial for creating content, responding to messages, and interacting with the audience.
- Organisational: Keeping track of schedules, content calendars, and PR activities to ensure smooth execution of campaigns and events.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with other team members to achieve common goals.
- Graphic Design: Basic graphic design skills to create visually appealing images and promotional materials. Knowledge of tools such as Canva is valuable.
- Time Management: Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities within a fast-paced environment.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and willingness to take on new tasks and responsibilities when required.
- Analytical: The ability to analyse social media metrics and derive insights to optimise strategies and improve engagement.

Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer.
Salary: 16/17 £5.28, 18/20yrs £7.49, 21/22yrs £10.18, 23/24yrs £10.42 per hour.
