Exciting Opportunity: Design Co-Ordinator

Location: Antrim, Northern Ireland

Salary: Open to negotiation 

An established specialist joinery and interior fit-out contractor, known for excellence and innovation, is seeking a talented individual to join their headquarters in Antrim.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will lead the design service provided on joinery and fit-out contracts, managing an in-house design team and collaborating with various stakeholders including project management, production, clients, consultants, sub-contractors, and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the design development of projects in collaboration with the project manager, client, and architectural consultant.
• Monitor design costs on projects versus budget allowances.
• Provide design advice on building regulations, fire protection, etc.
• Ensure the design team produces accurate, efficient drawings according to programme.
• Chair design meetings and proactively address design issues.
• Maintain records, manage flow of information, and provide regular progress reports.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in architectural design and/or construction projects, including progressing projects from RIBA stage 4 onwards for design and build contracts.
• Knowledge of BIM processes.
• Strong communication and people management skills.
• Ability to plan, stay one step ahead, and be self-motivated and adaptable.
• Experience working to tight programmes and delivering results within deadlines.
