Project Manager (Structures)

My client is currently recruiting a Project Managerwith Rail/Station/RC Structure experience to join their team on a major HS2 station build in Birmingham.
The successful Project Manager will be responsible for:
- Providing information to the Substructure and Structures SPMs for both short form and long form report outlining the progress of the Substructure works, actual cost, forecast and highlighting any problems and issues for resolution.
- Attending delivery meetings with HS2 Substructure Lead (and deputise for the Substructure SPM as required)
- Supporting the co–ordination between the construction, design, procurement and commercial departments to ensure the structure sub–contracts are awarded and work started in accordance with the schedule of works.
- Creating a high performing structure team through the setting of clear SMART targets via the team plan and complying with the performance management process for all team members.
- Promoting and deliver a collaborative environment throughout all members of the team including stakeholders and the supply chain. Establish and maintain site organisation and facilitate effective communications between the Employer s representatives
- Receipting of instruction from the client Construction Manager. Ensure a clear understanding of levels of authority to receive instructions by the client Construction Manager or Supervisor and receipt of other contractual communication within the team and supply chain.
- Ensuring performance management process and ensure the appropriate training is planned and delivered.
- Promoting and deliver works in accordance with HS2 standards and without defects. Ensure works are monitored to achieve right first–time workmanship and undertake lessons learnt reviews to promote continuous improvement.
My client requires the Project Manager to have:
- Degree or equivalent in Engineering or similar
- Chartership is desirable
- NEC contract experience
- Experience in Rail/HS2/Station Builds/RC Structures with proven track record of project delivery within time and budget
- Be commercially astute with experience of project controls and delivery to budget
- Previous experience of operating for major infrastructure clients typically, NR and other UK or International organisations
- Experience of managing interfaces with other contractors and Network Rail Projects
