An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated band 5 APP to work within Western Dales PCN. We have funding for one permanent full-time role, and this role will work across different practices in the area, primarily based at Bentham Medical Practice.

PCNs are a group of General Practice Surgeries who work together and share resources. Being part of the PCN team, you will work alongside other members of the ‘behaviour change team’, such as other mental health practitioners, social prescribers and health and wellbeing coaches.

Working across a PCN, you will provide assessments, structured formulations and brief psychological interventions to help meet presenting need and supporting your General Practice colleagues. You will be supervised by a Psychological professional. You will work closely with General Practice staff members and other mental health services and you may also work into the community, to help normalise mental health and teach others have to care for their emotional wellbeing. You will work as part of a team and contribute to the psychological understanding of distress and behaviour. There will be opportunities to hopefully shape this role alongside the PCN, and/or the T/APPs clinical team, which may include additions or adaptations to the current service delivery model.

Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.

The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.
