Job description

We are currently working with a leading engineering consultancy who are looking for an Associate Rail Structures Engineer to lead their team in Amersham. As the Associate Rail Structures Engineer, you will provide technical, managerial and leadership support on multi-disciplinary projects while guiding the Rail Civil Structural Design Team to achieve its deliverables. Typical projects being delivered will be for a range of clients, including Network Rail, Train Operating Companies and Railway Contractors. This could be a great opportunity for a Principal Rail Civil Structural Engineer looking to make that next step to Associate, or alternatively an Associate or Technical Manager looking for a fresh challenge. Typical job duties can include, but not limited to: Local management of people, projects and clients reporting through their discipline and office.Promote their rail sector services both within and external to JNP Group.Preparation of railway technical approval submissions in accordance with NR/L2/CIV/003 and in accordance with Network Rail Company Standards.Preparation of civil and structural engineering designs using manual calculations and industry standard software.Liaise and communicate with clients and external agencies i.e. Network Rail, Environment Agency, Regional Highway Authorities and Sewerage authorities etc.Represent JNP Group at meetings and in writing when required and attend site to undertake surveys and inspections.Control the programmed performance of projects.Overseeing the preparation of drawings by technicians.Preparation of structural reports on buildings and other structures. Job Requirements Chartered Engineer (will consider candidates operating at Chartered level/near Chartership)Working knowledge of the relevant legislation and guidelines including Network Rail Standards, British and European Standards, Eurocodes, and Codes of Practice.Significant experience in the technical delivery and management of all stages of Multi-Disciplinary Rail Engineering Projects from initial studies through to detailed design. As mentioned, this position is based in the Buckinghamshire with hybrid working so could suit candidates in the surrounding areas such as Watford, Slough, or St Albans.
