Job description

Internal Communications Manager

To lead, define and deliver an internal Communications strategy that is aligned to the companies objectives and ongoing business transformation.

To manage strategic campaigns to ensure colleagues are engaged using a range of communication channels and tools including digital, online, video and company all hands engagement events to deliver the Communications strategy.

To be an ambassador of the Companies brand, ensuring that all internal communications and touchpoints are on brand and adhere to core values whilst making sure they are communicated and embedded amongst colleagues.

To work closely with the Chief Customer Officer and their team to ensure alignment of messages including external channels (LinkedIn, website) and delivery of consistent collateral.

To partner with all business directorates on their Communications requirements, providing advice and best practice.

To champion a culture of internal communications self-service while maintaining overall approval for end deliverables.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Strategy, Vision, and Purpose Influence the strategic plans to develop, own and lead the internal Communications strategy that is aligned to the companies strategy, vision, and purpose.

To ensure the brand is executed effectively through all communications
Transformation communications strategy To lead in the design and delivery of the communications strategy in partnership across the Transformation workstreams and with sponsorship from the Transformation Director and CEO
Develop an impactful and strategic communication plan that creates a compelling narrative to inform, engage and mobilize employees behind the company's transformation.
Ensure consistent use of branding across the business

As part of the brand refresh to continue to position the company as a great place for attracting top talent through digital platforms such as the website, LinkedIn, and Glassdoor

Internal Communications Always ensure adherence to brand guidelines.

Lead, approve and manage all internal communications.
Advise on channels of communications.

Manage the workflow of communication requests, assigning, where appropriate to the Chief Customer Officer Team

Input into external communications and social media on stories that can be integrated and leveraged for employee interest and engagement.

Account Manager lead for agency resource.

Responsible for the development of internal communication channels to ensure they are future proof.

Build and own the internal communications plan to drive an integrated calendar of communication activities for effective deployment including content creation support.

To draft content and present in creative ways across a range of channels.
Inhouse cropping and editing of images with MS paint 3D

Accountable for the monthly communications, from setting dates in coloration with business PA's, invite and room booking, agenda and content creation, preparing speakers, ensuring room and IT set up and working. Managing and hosting the sessions.

Channel management including:

Emails - Content editing ensuing tone of voice and presented in professional way. Ownership of distribution lists.
Ownership for companywide teams channels.
Ownership for internal display screens.
Ownership of the media portal, intranet design for communication and engagement content.
Weekly round up - Ownership of the weekly round up.

Build a method of measurement to prove effectiveness of communications and channels, own and drive improvements.
Stakeholder Management Working across business directorates and stakeholders to deliver internal messages in a clear and consistent way.

The lead point of contact for SLT and the Leadership Team in agreeing internal communication activities, making recommendations for connecting with the companies audiences and shaping collateral/material to be produced.

Collate and review all material prior to internal or external communication from all internal stakeholders.
To partner with the People team on attraction and Employee Value proposition campaigns.

Collaboration Lead, design and deliver internal communications activity working across all areas of Cornerstone to provide consistent messaging and business updates.

Partnering with internal departments on Communications as required

To engage with the various champions to build the comms plan and messages including but not limited to Wellbeing, SRI and People team.

Sourcing speakers for internal events.

To manage the relationship and govern the internal retainer with marketing partner

Events The lead for scoping and delivering companywide events such as the monthly Business and Communications update and yearly employee engagement event.

Recommending the agenda's, crafting and collating content, intro and closing sessions where relevant. Coordinating events, briefing venue, preparing speakers etc.

To measure and propose events and support employee led events.

Event management including sourcing venues,
Budget To own and manage the internal Communications budget

Manage the retainer with our media agency ensuring we remain in budget and efficient use.


Experience (technical, managerial, industry) Significant experience in a digital or creative communications/marketing role

Significant experience of working in a fast moving, changeable environment.

Significant and demonstrable experience of writing articles both internally and externally

Demonstrable experience in using multiple social media platforms effectively.

Experience of working with external suppliers and briefing creative agencies


Experience of company events

Experience of working in a standalone marketing role.

Experience of working within the telecoms industry
Education level / Qualifications (professional, vocational) Educated to degree level and or Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Skills / Knowledge Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced)

Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to liaise with senior and executive stakeholders.
Ability to create a strategy and translate into a practical plan to achieve and deliver.

Excellent communication skills - written and oral

Ability to flex in a fast paced and ambiguous environment.

Problem solving skills with a proactive and solution minded approach.

Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously

Use of InDesign and Photoshop illustrator

Knowledge of SharePoint

Use of content management systems (HTML, JavaScript. Flash)

Experience in managing internal communications during times of organizational change
