Job description

WANTED - Support Workers in Watford, Hertfordshire.

If you are 18+ and want to develop a career in the social care sector, then apply and train in house as a Support Worker.

- Watford, WD25

- £11.20 per hour

- Part time - 10 hours per week

- Shifts are set at 10am-3pm - every Wednesday & Thursday

What the role entails

Do you enjoy spending your time outdoors? Whether that is trying new activities in the local community or visiting the local town centre? Or maybe you have an interest in baking, arts and crafts and making new friends? If so, apply and train in house to become our newest support worker where you will be supporting one gentleman with similar interests.

By becoming our newest support worker, you can expect day trips out. The gentleman we support enjoys going bowling, attending his day centre programme where he meets new friends, baking (cakes), arts, and crafts and going to the local town to go shopping. We would however, like our newest support workers to bring creativity and innovative ideas into our teams.

Additionally, your role will be to encourage independence with his personal and intimate care, provide encouragement, prompts and support to complete tasks within the home, mobility support and guidance to support with maintaining a healthy diet. This will include meal planning, shopping for healthy food items and support with feeding.

There is no such thing as a 'typical' support worker. Colleagues range from school leavers who want a job that involves helping people, to those who want a change of career, to experienced support workers wanting to work for an organisation that truly places the people it supports at the heart of all it does, to those coming to the end of a completely different career who want to give something back to their community.
