Job description

Recruit4Staff are proud to represent our client, an internationally renowned construction & civil engineering company in their search for a Quantity Surveyor to work on their long-term civil engineering & infrastructure project in the Penrhyndeudraeth area

For the successful Quantity Surveyor our client is offering:

  1. Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum (Negotiable depending on experience & skillset)
  2. Days Position 
  3. Permanent role
  4. 25 days holiday + Bank holidays
  5. Accommodation and allowance provided
  6. Pension with up to 8% contribution from our client
  7. Company car or car allowance

The Role - Quantity Surveyor

  1. Prepare and analyse project costings for tenders, such as materials, quantities, labour and time
  2. Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client
  3. Negotiate contracts and work schedules
  4. Supervised responsibility for the commercial function on a project or section of a project
  5. Proactively contribute to the commercial success of the project and thus the business
  6. Prepare applications and reports
  7. Review incoming accounts and correspondence and react accordingly
  8. Manage specified subcontract accounts and support senior commercial staff in negotiations
  9. Agree a personal development plan and deliver the objectives

What our client is looking for in a Quantity Surveyor

  1. Previous experience in a similar quantity surveyor role
  2. Previous experience working for Tier 1 or Tier 2 Contractor companies ESSENTIAL
  3. HNC/ HND qualified in a Quantity Surveying/Civil Engineering/Construction Discipline ESSENTIAL
  4. Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) or equivalent BENEFICIAL
  5. Previous experience working in the Civil Engineering / Construction sector ESSENTIAL
  6. Currently hold a CSCS Card BENEFICIAL
  7. Previous experience working on infrastructure projects BENEFICIAL
  8. Possess a detailed understanding of the general and specific contract and subcontract terms
  9. Demonstrate a knowledge of the techniques and processes involved in delivering the works
