Work with your mentor/s to a training matrix set out to cover your Apprenticeship criteria and more.
Learn to read drawings and process documentation naturally.
Communicate and liaise with other departments, customers, and all levels of management.
Plan future tasks and ensure that all work is completed in a timely fashion.
Work alongside your mentor/s to assess and mitigate risks.
Support continuous improvement and investigate ways to engineer out persistent problems.
Perform any other ad hoc duties as required.
Document activities completed on the company’s job booking system.
The successful applicant will attend the College of West Anglia Kings Lynn campus on day release over 3 years. Year 1 will include the employer selected engineering practical skills relevant to the job role. Year 2 & 3 is the engineering knowledge required to meet the criteria of the Engineering Fitter Level 3 standard and support the job role. The mandatory qualification is the EAL Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering with an electrical/electronic bias. A work-based portfolio of learning will need to be kept through to the end point assessment.
As part of the recruitment and selection process the applicant will need to have a college interview with the Apprenticeship Advisor to ensure eligibility and entry requirements. There would also be a requirement to take a basic skills assessment in maths and English prior to a formal offer being made.
Once you have achieved your level 3 apprenticeship, and you have proved your aptitude, you will be progressed onto a higher apprenticeship towards becoming an Automation and Controls Engineering Technician at level 4 which will include a Higher National Certificate in Engineering.
