You will be working Monday to Friday from 9am until 5:30pm.
Job Role:
As a Litigation Executive, you will be responsible forproviding support and assistance in managing the litigation process within ourorganisation. Your primary focus will be on civil litigation cases, assistingin handling legal matters efficiently and effectively. You will play a crucialrole in the preparation, organisation, and coordination of litigationactivities, ensuring the smooth running of cases and the delivery ofhigh-quality legal services.
Your day-to-day duties as a Litigation Executive willinclude:
- Chase any outstanding debt from non-paying clients.
- Case management: Assist in managing a portfolio of civil litigation cases, including non-payments from clients, contractual disputes, and other related matters.
- Legal research and analysis: Conduct legal research and analysis to support case preparation, including identifying relevant laws, regulations, precedents, and case studies.
- Document preparation and review: Prepare and review legal documents such as statements of case, witness statements, pleadings, and correspondence, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to legal requirements.
- Court filing and procedural compliance: Handle court filings, including preparing and submitting court documents, complying with procedural rules and deadlines, and maintaining proper case records.
- Client communication and consultation: Interact with clients, providing updates on case progress, answering their queries, and maintaining strong professional relationships.
- Witness coordination: Liaise with witnesses, arrange interviews, gather evidence, and prepare witness statements in collaboration with the legal team.
- Discovery and evidence gathering: Assist in the discovery process, gathering relevant evidence, organising documentation, and ensuring its admissibility and availability for trial.
- Trial support: Provide support during trials, including attending court hearings, coordinating with witnesses, and assisting in the presentation of evidence and legal arguments.
- Settlement negotiations: Assist in settlement negotiations, drafting settlement agreements, and facilitating communication between parties involved in the litigation process.
- Compliance and ethics: Adhere to professional and ethical standards, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Requirements
As a Litigation Executive you will have:
- Bachelor's degree in law or a related field. A paralegal certification or additional legal qualifications are advantageous.
- Proven experience (2-5 years) working in a litigation support role within a law firm or legal department.
- Strong knowledge of civil litigation processes, procedures, and legal terminology.
- Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and court rules pertaining to civil litigation.
- Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to gather and evaluate information effectively.
- Proficient in legal document preparation, review, and case management software.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a legal team.
- Professionalism, integrity, and the ability to maintain client confidentiality.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Salary of up to £42,000
