Assistant Accountant
Artemis are working in exclusive partnership with this leading NI business to help them hire a talented Assistant Accountant professional to take on a newly created role with the company.
Reporting to the FC, you will manage all day to day transactions and support Month end processes, as well as preparing Monthly Management Accounts.
As part of a small, dynamic Accounting function alongside owning a lot of the Accounting duties, you will gain exposure to the wider running of a commercial business and get involved in ad hoc projects and business administration.
Daily duties:
- Preparation and reporting of monthly management accounts (P&L/Balance Sheet/Cash flow).
- Variance analysis and investigation.
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for month-end/year-end.
- Offer day to day support to the sales/purchase ledgers to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Importing sales ledger transactions and reconciling same.
- Monthly bank reconciliations including sterling & foreign currency.
- Completing VAT returns.
- Processing monthly payroll and pension submissions.
- Assisting management with budgeting and forecasting.
- Supporting Management in a variety of information requirements to aid decision making.
- Participating in process improvement projects.
- Liaise with external stakeholders as required.
- Assist with duties across trading group as and when needed.
The person:
- Qualified ATI Accounting Technician / Part Qualified ACCA / CIMA / CAI Accountant OR Qualified through significant hands on Accounting experience
- Minimum of 3 years current experience in an Accounting role, preferably with some industry experience
- Strong attention to detail and proven ability to meet deadlines
- Confident, professional communication style
- Flexible approach to duties and willingness to get involved in ad hoc projects and tasks
