Summary.

We are seeking a Junior Tester to join our professional team in the UK. Our QA Team is responsible for ensuring that Formpipe delivers top-quality software. The successful candidate will help to maintain and execute test plans.

We are looking for candidates that are passionate about learning technical topics, and motivated to keep up-to-date on Formpipe software, so that they can apply that knowledge to assist our Development teams.

This role is an opportunity for the right candidate to gain experience working in a technology-driven industry, learn new skills, and build a career as a QA engineer in a “people first” company with excellent progression. Technical skills and experience are required, but training on required software will be given by our friendly team.

Duties and Responsibilities .

• Write new and maintain existing manual and automated test plans:
  • Work with the other members of QA team to implement required tests
  • Cooperate with the Development teams
  • Translate functional specifications to test plans
  • Analyse issues/bugs and suggest and/or make improvements to internal test plans and processes to eliminate weaknesses
• Execute required test plans. For example: regression, smoke, performance, load, security etc
  • Report summary of defects
• Verify bug fixes, new features, improvements
• Keep the QA documentation up to date
• Participate in the software release process
• Gain knowledge about Formpipe software
• Participate and contribute in Agile-based sprint planning, retrospectives and stand-up meetings

Knowledge and Experience .

Essential:

• Experience working in an IT software development or testing team
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Excellent deductive and inductive reasoning and problem-solving; the ability to think logically and step through problems rigorously will be key in the success of this role
• Quick learning and ability to understand complex wide-ranging concepts
• Ability to write clean, properly detailed internal documentation and test plans
• Have a keen eye for detail
• Flexible, independent and self-motivated
• The ability to work with multiple stakeholders throughout the business

Desirable:

• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
• Knowledge of testing tools for example: Soap UI, Jmeter, Postman
• Programming experience in languages like: JavaScript, Java, SQL, PowerShell
• Basic knowledge of Azure hosted solutions
• Experience using Azure DevOps + Test Plans, SQL Microsoft Server Management Studio, Oracle SQL Developer
• Knowledge of testing frameworks: Selenium, Playwright
