Director of English

Do you have a flair for English and have the skill set to support, challenge, motivate and develop our English team to secure improvements in students?

Are you a middle leader looking to extend your experience and ready to be a key driver of change?

Can you empower this all-important department by intricately connecting all staff and every student?

If you can demonstrate the ability to lead a successful department drawing on your extensive teaching and leadership experience – this is the job for you!

Salary/Grade: Leadership Pay L8-10 £56,082 - £58,959

Full time, Permanent

To be successful you will need to:

·         Have skills in communication, collaboration, listening, adaptability, empathy, and patience.

·         A proven track record of success in improving standards and raising pupil outcomes.

·         Be qualified to teach English at GCSE.

·         Experience of innovation and creativity to engage, enthuse and progress learners.

·         Have the ability to coach and motivate colleagues to achieve individual and collective targets

·         Think creatively to anticipate and solve problems.

·         Embody the values of ‘Achievement through Caring’.

·         Contribute fully to school life.

·         Have high expectations of yourself and be a role model to others.

·         Be determined to play a pivotal part in leading staff in the English Department, working closely with the Headteacher.
