Job Title: Estates Surveyor  

Location: Hertfordshire / Hybrid

Contract: 6-months ongoing

Pay: Inside IR35 - £400 per day

A local authority based in Hertfordshire area is currently recruiting for an Interim Estates Surveyor.

Main Responsibilities

Negotiate and supervise the negotiation of others and to agree valuations for purchase and sale of land, property, Council houses, rights of way, etc. and ensure that such transactions and valuations are carried out in a professional and discreet manner with no detriment to the Council.

Provide professional property advice in regards to any negotiation the council is due to undertake.

Negotiate and supervise the letting of Council-owned shops, offices, garages, maisonettes and other commercial or industrial properties ensuring that letting procedures are carried out effectively and efficiently. Negotiate and agree the review of rents at the intervals previously determined.  Ensure that all negotiations are carried out professionally and to the Council's benefit.

Determine valuations of property for mortgages and insurance purposes, and dilapidation surveys. Carry out valuations under the Right to Buy procedures on properties within the Council’s Housing stock.

Carry out regular property inspections on all leased properties and prepare property inspection records.

Qualifications/Experience

Degree in estate management / MRICS or experience to match.

Experience in commercial property.

Lease renewals, rent reviews etc.
