SEO is a key sales channel for the Staysure Group. This position plays a key role in achieving and sustaining high SEO ranks working closely with the Group SEO Manager. The focus of the role is creating onsite content against the SEO strategy laid out by the Group SEO Manager.
As well as being a great commercial copywriter youll have a head for data and love to analyse the impact of the work you do. Youll also have an indepth knowledge and experience of delivering customerfirst SEO growth.
To be successful in this position you will have a passion for SEO content writing with meticulous attention to detail. You will also have experience in using SEO to drive revenue and have exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
You and your role:
- Writing and editing SEO web copy for both sales and engagement
- Writing datadriven content pieces that can be used for SEO
- SEO Content hygiene auditing using Screaming Frog and implement resulting changes accurately in the CMS
- Coordinating changes resulting from content work with marketing teams (e.g. PPC) and technical teams e.g. Navigation updates or redirects
- Working with the wider content team to make sure content is onbrand
- Researching opportunities for organic search growth and provide actionable insights.
- Championing SEO bestpractices (e.g. Keyword usage internal linking etc.) With content execs and editorial teams.
- Employ a Content Designers mindset including carrying out regular competitor content analysis identifying gaps in content and opportunities to improve our templates/content structures.
- Attend weekly meetings with various brand teams to update them on SEO progress what is/isnt working and content priorities for the following week.
- Input on weekly and monthly SEO reports showing progress and identify weakness or lost opportunities.
- Keep pace with Google algorithm updates and refine best practices accordingly in conjunction with the Group SEO Manager and Technical SEO Manager.
- Be datadriven and continually looking into search demand topics and trends from a variety of data sources.
- Attend industry events and participate in internal workshops to share knowledge.
- Optimise editorial strategies for SEO traffic gains and link building efficiencies
Essential Skills
- Experience using keyword / competitor analysis tools such as BrightEdge (training will be given on individual tools)
- Experienced in creating and editing landing pages for SEO comfortable with popular CMS platforms such as WordPress Magnolia etc.
- A passion for SEO and a comprehensive understanding of SEO best practices including Content Design / what it takes to create great content
- Ability to interpret data and turn it into a stories to be used for SEO (onpage and for Digital PR)
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience of working in SEO preferably within a content / finance environment
- Comfortable pulling data from Google Analytics and Google Search Console
- You will have a customerfirst approach to SEO and innate ability to balance SEO and UX considerations
- Strong awareness of how search engines and how they work outside of content alone
- Spreadsheet skills to work with raw data and using the insights to present back to teams
- Diplomatic and persuasive with superb communication skills to build working relationships with editors and development team
