Early Years and Family Hubs Assistant Team Manager

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity to join Middlesbrough Council’s Early Years and Family Hubs team as an Assistant Team Manager on a permanent basis to manage a team within the Family Hubs function to ensure effective delivery of the Family Hubs interventions/programmes. The role includes line management of staff and building management/running oversight of a number of Family Hubs. We need someone with early years qualifications, experience and knowledge, along with excellent communication skills, experience of line management of staff and able to work in a fast paced environment.  

The team focus is very much on improving educational outcomes for 0-5’s with a view to improving their life opportunities. The postholder will support the Team Manager with all early years delivery in the Hubs, including a literacy pathway, parenting, early language and improving the home learning environment. We aim to improve children’s outcomes by working with parents to help them understand they are their child’s first educator and as such, how they can help their children’s development.

The postholder will work closely with a range of partners including parents/carers, health services, midwifery, Social care, Early Help colleagues, along with a number of commissioned partners and services so we’re looking for someone with excellent collaboration skills/experience.
