Job description
We are partnering with a Cambridge-based manufacturing company seeking a Category Manager to join their team on a hybrid basis.
This position involves both remote work and on-site visits to production sites across Europe, including occasional supplier visits.
Responsibilities: - Formulate and revise Category Strategies for Electronics, Software, and Services.
- Foster and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Identify and integrate new, capable sources to diversify the supply base.
- Boost profitability through cost-saving initiatives, managing Purchase Price Variances, and optimizing inventory.
- Mitigate risks within the supply base and oversee contract management.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) requirements and address supply chain obsolescence.
- Enhance and streamline purchasing processes while maintaining data integrity in the ERP database.
- Develop and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
Skills Required: - Background in strategic sourcing within a technical, fast-paced environment.
- Updated category knowledge, with experience in procuring Electronics, Software, and connectivity services considered advantageous.
- Proficient in developing and executing procurement strategies.
- In-depth purchasing expertise in the manufacturing of technical products.
- Knowledgeable in Electronics, Software, and connectivity services.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to lead complex stakeholder groups with a focus on customer needs.
- Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills.
- Financial and analytical acumen.
- Familiarity with best practices in Compliance, Procurement, and Legal matters.
- ERP knowledge, preferably with experience in Oracle.
