The role
The purpose of the Commercial Planning function is to ensure that the commercial functions work consistently and collaboratively in order to drive total company volume, sales and profit results. The Commercial Planning Manager is responsible for co-ordinating the commercial functions of Nelsons (Sales, Marketing, Product Development) in developing and delivering the short, medium and long term strategy across all territories (UK, France, Germany, USA and Export Markets).The role will report to the Head of Commercial Finance and will also have cross functional relationships with Finance/Demand Planning and the commercial business. You will leverage market, sales, retailer, consumer and shopper insights to develop and execute the commercial plan whilst developing robust planning and analytical processes that drive sustainable growth.
What will I be doing?
Financial Forecasting
o Coordinate building blocks of growth and consolidate into budget plan.
o Coordinate rolling quarterly financial forecast with Finance and Commercial partners.
o Coordinate and lead Operating Board reviews with Finance and Commercial partners.
o Coordinate 12 month rolling Volume Forecast (S&OP) with Supply, Demand and Commercial partners.
Execution and Reporting
o Lead 3 month planning meeting to coordinate cross functional execution of commercial plan (detailed 3 month plan, 3 months in advance).
o Coordinate month end review commercial inputs.
o Support / Analysis total business forecast / budget process
o Coordinate ad hoc multi region data requests.
Planning
o Coordinate omni-channel JBPs with Commercial partners.
o Coordinate the identification of assortment (range), availability (distribution), activation (promotion) and efficiency (price and NRM) opportunities with Commercial partners.
o Coordinate 3 year Strategic plan Finance, Demand and Commercial partners.
o Ensure effective meeting management (pre-reads, agenda, minutes, actions).
o Coordinate and collate new initiative volume inputs across regions (product innovation, commercial innovation).
People
o Co-ordinate the commercial plan at all levels in the organisation.
o Act as liaison between the regions and the UK central functions.
Requirements
About you...
· A proven track record in coordinating cross functional teams
· Experience of coordinating multi region teams
· A deep understanding of commercial planning and best practice
· Experience of transforming commercial; planning and implementing best practice
· To be able to interpret a financial P&L and have an analytical mindset
· Experience across all channels (pharmacy, drugstore, grocery, e-commerce)
· Ideally from an FMCG Health & Beauty background.
· An understanding of navigating the regulatory framework
