Job description
We require a volunteer to research funding opportunities and write funding applications to allow us to continue and expand our Tool Library, Skills Workshops and Repair Events.
What will you be doing?Clachworks CIC are currently looking for a volunteer to compile and submit funding applications for our Tool Library, Skills Workshops, and Repair Events. Funding is needed to allow us to continue with the work that we are doing and to allow us to expand.
Responsibilities:
• Research and identify sources of funding and grants that match the company’s objectives
• Write high quality and winning funding proposals with close attention to closing dates for applications.
We are looking for self motivated, organised individuals with excellent written communication skills. It is prefereable the candidate will have expertise in submitting funding applications, to local and national government and other organisations who may advertise funds that we may make applications to. You are able to volunteer from home and the time required for this opportunity can vary a degree depending on the deadlines for application submission. Though any help is appreciated.
What are we looking for?Experience with writing winning funding applications is preferred but not essential.
Excellent written communication skills.
Ability to research and understand the requirements of each fund and which we are eligible for.
Able to commit the time we required.
Team working skills, able to communicate well with members of the board.
What difference will you make?Through tool donations our Tool Library provides the local community with very low cost access to a variety of tools. In this way individuals can access tools they could not otherwise afford or save on the cost of buying new tools, save on the space of storing tools, reduce the amount of tools going to landfill, and reduce the consumption of materials overall. We promote the idea of a sharing economy where we can borrow rather than own the things that we need and repair what it broken rather than discarding it. We intend to provide skill sharing workshops to allow more people to learn to repair and repair cafes to allow people to have items repaired. The impact on the environment and the community will have huge benefits and we have many routed of potential funding which have not yet been explored.
