Job description

1. Integrate the R&D team for the development of new cell and tissue culture medium formulations incorporating our proprietary technology.
2. Test the effectiveness of the new medium formulations in supporting the growth of different cell types within various  in vitro culture systems implemented within the company.
3. Write new methods and guidelines related to the new media formulations and cell and tissue culture.
4. Write reports describing the various experiments and present main conclusions to the R&D team. Interpret statistical data to identify trends and generate technical reports.
5. Ensure the effective sourcing and supply of key materials to be used within R&D projects.
6. Liaise with other team members for effective and timely delivery of project objectives.
7. Attend and participate in the Company’s project and technical meetings. Provide technical updates to the R&D team when required.

Key skills and qualifications:

1. PhD in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Cell Biology, Pharmacology or related field of study.
2. Extensive experience in media formulation to performance specifications based on a fundamental understanding of medium composition and property relationships.
3. Extensive experience in media production, filtration, and analysis.
4. Extensive experience in animal cell and tissue culture, including the establishment, maintenance, optimisation, and storage of animal cell and tissue cultures.
5. Extensive experience in animal cell and tissue culture, including the establishment, maintenance, optimisation, and storage of animal cell and tissue cultures.
6. Extensive experience in bioimaging (light and fluorescence microscopy) and cell-based assays (e.g., histochemistry staining, immunohistochemistry, ELISA, etc).
7. Ability to troubleshoot issues that may arise in process development.
8. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
9. Proficiency in documenting laboratory procedures and results.
10. Fluency, both spoken and written, in English and Mandarin.

1. Proven experience in academia (3+ years postdoctoral) or industry (2+ years) with an R&D position. 
2. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
3. Have excellent communication, people and presentation skills. 
4. Motivation and ambition to pursue a career progression in biotech.
5. Good time management skills.
6. Well organised.
7. Able to multitask.
8. Takes ownership of tasks.
9. Happy in a small team.
10. Good eye for detail
