JOB DESCRIPTION Part-time Personal Assistant A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF I am a 52 year old lady living in the Caerphilly area. I have learning disabilities and I am a wheelchair user. I am unable to communicate my needs so you will need to use your initiative it ensure I have everything I need. I like music and silliness and people and food – especially chocolate and ice-cream. I am often happy and I love a good giggle. I like going for day trips, either just being driven out in my adapted vehicle or being taken for a stroll in my electric wheelchair. PURPOSE OF JOB I am looking for carers to join a well-established care team to support me in my own home. Some on the job training provided. HOURS OF WORK Approx 16 hours weekly also other casual hours may be available You may be requested to do relief waking night shifts on occasions of staff leave or sickness RATES OF PAY Hourly rate of Pay £11.45 per hour Weekend rate of pay is £17.17 per hour Holiday pay, 20 days plus 8 statutory Pension Meals are paid for if out of the house on day trips TASKS INVOLVED v General Personal Care. v Hoisting. v Handling an electric wheelchair. v Pressure area care. v Moving and handling. v Meal preparation & Feeding. v Ensuring sufficient fluid intake. v Administering of medication. v Putting her to bed. v Keeping her company, talking to her, socialising with her. v Taking her out on day trips with other carers. v Supporting her in the community. TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED v Female due to personal care. v Friendly, Positive, Calm and Helpful. v Have Good problem-solving skills. v Have a Good Sense of Humour. v Be Flexible and Trustworthy. v Be Patient and Caring Attitude. v Be Good at listening. v Be able to use initiative at work. v Be very motivated and energetic.
