The Role:

Based in our Belfast office and reporting to the Finance Director, the role will connect strategic direction from the Board with tactical priorities and corresponding workflows.

Using a proven combination of technical capability, professional judgment, and commercial acumen the successful candidate is expected to take a proactive approach to designing and organising the operational structure of the Finance department - including evaluation and introduction of new tools and resources to complement the needs of a growing business. Similar previous experience and natural curiosity are essential in building out a robust and fit-for-purpose framework.

The Financial Controller also has comprehensive oversight of all reporting channels, systems, controls, treasury, and cashflows, as well as supervising statutory compliance - ensuring best practice and a culture of continuous improvement throughout. To achieve and maintain excellence it is fundamental to foster productive working relationships with the wider senior management team, applying lateral thinking and clear logic to solve problems and outline financial implications.

The Requirements:

· Qualified accountant with 10+ years continuous relevant experience.

· Broad career history principally within SME environment, corporate exposure beneficial.

· Inclusive people manager who can lead and inspire.

· Ability to inform and influence the executive Board and key stakeholders.

· High degree of professional competence with exceptional attention to detail.

· Hands-on approach with a clear understanding of wider business functions.

· Process-driven individual capable of leveraging acquired knowledge and limited resources to make decisions and convert plans into action.

· Comfortable handling complex information and managing multiple workstreams.

· Self-motivated with a track record of setting agendas and delivering to deadlines

· Adaptable to change and always ready to meet the next challenge within a fast-paced environment.

· Well-rounded knowledge of finance systems and information flow.
