Job description
What you will do in your working day
- Working alongside experienced and qualified staff, you will learn all aspects of Toolmaking. Working undr Supervision, you will work towards being responsible for the following tasks: Using and interpreting Engineering data and documentation to include 2D drawings of tool assemblies, specific parts, 3D cad data of mould tools.
- Highlight potential tooling issues and find a suitable way to disassemble mould tools, Standard working instruction documenation, Tool preventative maintenance documentation and schedules.
- Tool specifi cooling circuit diagrams, Hydraulic circuit diagrams, critical spares lists, hot runner systems & diagrams.
- Carrying out checks and maintenance as outlined within the PPM (Planned, Preventative Maintenance) scheme.
- Fault diagnosis and repair on Injection mould tools.
- Use internal PC based system to log faults and repairs.
- Understand engineering drawings and 3D CAD data to interpret and analyse tooling faults and aid in ther respective repairs in order to maintain production requirements.
- Work cohesively with the engineering team.
The training you will be getting
- Level III in Engineering Technician - Toolmaker at North West Training Council, Liverpool.
- Block release for 42 weeks; remainder spent with employer.
- A Technical training assessor will support you throughout your apprenticeship.
- NWTC in Liverpool will deliver your training and monitor your Apprenticeship on a regular basis to ensure you achieve the standards required including; core skills, knowledge and occupational behaviours in preparation for gateway / End Point Assessment.
