The Malone has just rebranded and has undergone an extensive refurbishment of the bar, restaurant and wider hotel.
We have an opportunity for a Commis Chef to join our growing team
It’s an extremely exciting time to get on board. We are a locally owned, boutique 4* hotel where your personality and originality will have a chance to shine!

The Commis Chef must ensure the preparation of all food to an exceptional standard. You will work closely with the Chef de Partie, rotating through the sections and learning as you go.
About The Role
Your job responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to the following:
· Preparing the ingredients for a section
· Developing your cooking skills and knowledge under the senior kitchen team
· Ensure minimum kitchen wastage
· Measuring dish ingredients and portion sizes accurately
· Dealing with deliveries and stock rotation
· Maintaining high standards of hygiene
· To comply with H&S, fire, hygiene and security regulations
· To ensure safe and careful handling of equipment
· Assist in keeping up to date records in compliance with due diligence
Essentials
· A strong level of English is essential
· Ideally you will have an NVQ, BTEC or diploma in catering but we are happy to train an enthusiastic and hardworking lover of cooking!
· Highly responsible & reliable
· A positive and friendly attitude
· Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
