My client focuses on distributing UK & European 3PL services nationally across the country and into Europe. Based in Alfreton, Derbyshire, the company has report large scale grow in both revenue and profits over the last half-decade, growing to in excess of £100m+ in revenue last year. They are now looking to expand their operation and bring on board like-minded individuals. Their fleet currently numbers 202, with further plans to grow their operation by 20% in the coming year!
Job Description
The successful Transport Planner will report directly into the Head of Transport & Planning and will be responsible for the following areas:
- Planning of UK and European transport movements of own fleet vehicles.
- Build economical transport loads for the network from a trunking and delivery perspective
- Assist in negotiating rates with both customers and transport providers when using sub-contractors.
- Focus on providing efficiency's within the transport network, in order to maximise profits
- Aim to plan for around 150 loads along
- Successfully plan a large national transport network - including ADR and out of gauge materials
- Process orders planned by Sales Representatives across the pallet network, full loads and sub-contracted vehicles.
- Planning around WTD and drivers hours regulations.
The Successful Applicant
As a European Transport Planner you will ideal have the following skills to fulfil the vacancy. You will also be easily commutable of Alfreton, Derbyshire.
- Domestic UK or European transport planing experience
- Experience planning transport networks with over 100 movements per-week.
- A flair for customer service
- Experience of working to deadlines in a logistics environment
- A willingness to learn and a drive to succeed.
